Introduction
KGIBC-CTC Co-operative Education Programs formally integrate a student's academic studies with paid or unpaid work experience in KGIBC-CTC partner companies.
Co-op Placement and Co-op Partners
Students must cooperate in preparing for their practicum. A paid practicum is at the discretion of our Co-op partners and is subject to the student's performance and abilities. Co-op work placements are placements authorized by KGIBC-CTC. The student's work process is monitored throughout the entire placement by the KGIBC-CTC Co-op coordinator, supervised by the employer, and evaluated by both KGIBC-CTC and the employer at the end of the program. Students will have to submit weekly Co-op reports.
Work Permit and Paid Internship
KGIBC-CTC Co-op students will need to apply for a work permit. Upon arrival, the Co-op coordinator will meet the student and assist in the process.
CIC - Citizenship and Immigration
all co-op internships are subject to a work permit. Work permits are issued at the discretion of CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) according to their rules and regulations.
Program Length
A-BM is a 12 month program which includes 26 weeks of work experience.
